Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

I would rate it 7/10 using my scale below.

10 – Masterpiece. 1-2 movies a year might get this rating.
9 – Great movie but just falling short of perfect in some way.
8 – One of the best of it’s genre or medium.
7 – A great experience that I would recommend to anyone.
6 – An enjoyable experience, usually reserved for things that are trash that I really loved.
5 – Somewhat enjoyable experience but I would only recommend it to someone if it matched their tastes.
4 – Not enjoyable; has some redeeming aspects but ultimately disappointed.
3 – Terrible. Would want money back from theater.
2 – Terrible. Would want time back.
1 – Terrible. Couldn’t finish.

As far as where I would rate it with the others:

  • Episode 1: 6
  • Episode 2: 6
  • Episode 3: 6
  • Episode 4: 8
  • Episode 5: 9
  • Episode 6: 8
  • Episode 7: 8
  • Episode 8: 6
  • Episode 9: 8
  • Rogue One: 7

Black Friday Rifle

It’s been two years since I bought my last rifle which was an AR-15. It works well for what it does but recently I was thinking I wanted something capable of taking hunting but also fun for me to shoot at the range. So I was debating getting an upper for my AR-15 in .300 Blackout or a completely new rifle. All have their different reasons in favor of that choice. One option I looked at was getting an AR-10, the big brother of the AR-15 in .308/7.62 NATO. It’s a solid rifle but I was thinking it was a little out of my price range. I could have always built it piece by piece but my local gun shop “Gun Shack” was having a great Black Friday sale today. So I asked Sarah if I could get myself a big gift and she gave the okay. So off I went today and now I have this big beautiful DPMS LR-308 Panther Oracle. I was able to get it at a steep discount and can’t wait to take it out to the range. Picture taken with AR-15 to see the difference in scale.

Silver Oaks 2018 meeting my summary

Here is my summary of the 2018 Silver Oaks HOA Meeting:

Minutes don’t get approved until the following annual meeting but as far as business the only item was the election which results were the following having the most votes: Allen Pearce-Mishler, Paul Darr, and Dez Clayburg.

There were also committee reports from Paul Darr and Bryan Pearce. If you would like to help with Beautification (Decorations, ect) or Social (Community activities) please contact them.

There were also comments from the community but that doesn’t get included in the minutes. My brief summary from the comments are that they mostly dealt with homeowners asking about those not paying dues and what was the developer doing about that? The answer was that they were very lenient currently. The homeowners present seemed very supportive of the board enforcing up to the limits of the law in regards to non-payment of dues and enforcement of other violations. There was an additional comment about wrong identification with a violation letter. The HOA administrator asked that any time that happens to please email her and it can be notated in the system to not happen again. Additionally Allen gave a report of the numbers and there is currently over $190,000 delinquent from home owners. 55 home owners owe between $1,000-$5,000 in dues and legal fees to the community. As board members I understand we are legally limited from pointing out the individuals or getting more specific than that but essentially this will be a big issue for us to address.
